THOMAS ALLOM (English / 1804-1872)

The painter and architect Thomas Allom was born in London. He studied architecture under Francis Goodwin, with whom he later went into partnership. He was one of the founders of the Institute of British Architects. As an artist, Thomas Allom produced a great many watercolours and drawings of scenes from his wide travels, ranging from the Lake District to the Orient.
