Woodcut by Wassily Kandinsky for Klange (Sounds); a later printing from the original block on beautiful cream wove paper. There were a total of 345 prints for the book Klange, published in 1913. In 1966 Wassily Kandinsky's widow Nina authorised the deluxe art revue XXe Siecle to reprint a number of subjects from the original wood blocks in an unknown print run, probably about 3000 copies; this is the source of our print. Subsequently a further 100 copies were printed in the book Regards sur le passé. There were no signed copies. Ref: Roethel 106 Condition: Fine.
