IDBURY PRINTS

"Everything in nature takes its form from the sphere, the cone, and the cylinder," wrote Cézanne. This combined with the observation by Picasso of splintered reflections in the mirrored brothels of Barcelona is the foundation of Cubism. We have Cubist work by Picasso and Braque, and important lithographs by Léger, whose Cubism is tubular rather than angular. We also have prints by French artists influenced by Cubism, such as Roger Chastel, Marianne Clouzot, Marcel Gromaire, and Jean-Émile Laboureur.
