IDBURY PRINTS

Etching is a method of intaglio printing in which the lines drawn by the artist on a metal plate coated with a ground of wax are bitten into the plate with acid. Some etchers also add fine lines directly onto the plate with a drypoint needle, as Rembrandt did. We have work by many of the masters of twentieth-century etching, including Alméry Lobel-Riche, Roger Chastel, and Terry Haass.
