Aquatint is a method of creating tone on an etched plate. Among our holdings in which the aquatint is the dominant process are an extraordinary set of etchings of Paris at night during WWI, under the threat of aerial bombardment, by Georges Gorvel. Michel Mathonnat is another printmaker whose mastery of aquatint is central to his art.
