LOUIS TOUCHAGUES – Dedication, c.1945
Sheet size: 380 x 280 mm
Edition: Unique – Signed by artist
Original drawing from the front page of the album Nus, published by Éditions du Tertre around 1945, which contained 20 aquatint etchings by Touchagues. Touchagues has sketched in ink a caricature self-portrait of himself as a heart, holding a palette, signed it and added the message, "hommage de l'illustrateur pour Madame Quentin". He has additionally added in pencil a female leg in a high-heeled shoe, and a pair of female lips. This is a charming, if slight, page of original drawings, marred by serious foxing over the entire sheet, as can be seen in our photograph. Condition: Foxed, see description.
