Original etching by Edmond Hédouin (1820-1889) after the painting by Jean-François Millet, with the names of Millet and Hédouin in drypoint and a printed title below. Printed on Japan paper. As published in The Barbizon School by David Croal Thomson, which was published in an edition of 280 copies by Chapman and Hall in 1890. The etchings for this work were printed quite separately from the letterpress, but the name of the printer is not given. This etching was originally commissioned by Durand-Ruel for his Receuil d'Estampes in 1873. Condition: Excellent
